The top model comes with a price tag of Rs. 13,990 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The colors available now are the Diamond Black and Solar Red, however a silver variant will also come next month.
The model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will also be made available in June. The company is clearly competing with the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro with this smartphone. The Note 5 Pro with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs. 14,999 and the model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage comes at Rs. 16,999. However, you get dual rear camera setup on the Redmi devices.
The smartphone comes with Dual-SIM support of two 4G SIMs, and there is a dedicated microSD card slot as well to expand the storage to up to 256GB. The device also runs on ColorOS 5.0 and Android Oreo 8.1, just like the Oppo F7. It comes with a 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ration of 18:9 and 84% screen to body ratio. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor clocked at 2GHz with a dual core AI-specific chip.
In terms of camera hardware and software, the device comes with a single camera at the back, which is of 13 megapixel, however, the camera is capable of taking shots with the help of artificial technology which increases the quality of the photo taken. The camera also supports bokeh mode which focuses on the subject or face and blurs the background like a dual camera setup does. Even the Oppo F7 comes with a single camera at the rear.
The company is offering AI Beauty 2.0 as well which further enhances the quality of the selfies taken by the 8-megapixel front camera. The phone comes with fast Face Unlock feature which unlocks the device in just 0.1 seconds. The company is also providing AR stickers with the Realme 1.
The company is providing dual 4G VoLTE SIM slots with additional slot for memory card. The phone comes with basic features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and sensors like Proximity Sensor, Gyroscope and others. The speaker is below the screen with the charging port and the headphone jack.
The smartphone is powered by a battery of 3410mAh, and the company claims that it will last very long, thanks to the AI chip and the MediaTek processor. The built is a mixture of fiber and glass and it weighs just 158 grams.1
The sale of the device will begin from May 25th on Amazon exclusively, however, only the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model will be available on that day and other models will be available later in June. The company also introduced some launch offers with the device like 5% cashback with SBI cards, Jio benefit worth Rs. 4,850 with a free case and a screen protector pre-applied too.
The Oppo Realme 1 looks really good in hands, there is no doubt in that. However, there is no fingerprint sensor, which means, when you have to unlock your device in low light conditions like at night, you will have to use a pin or pattern. Other than that, the pricing is really impressive and it will definitely affect the sales of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Oppo also promised that the device will never go “out of stock” as their competition does, which is a really good thing.
Now here are the pros and cons of the device.
